Spectral Industries and Skaland in a close collaboration, installed Spectral’s LIBS sensor “BeltPulse” on the conveyor belt in the Skaland processing plant. The sensor is one of the technology modules developed and being tested within the DINAMINE project. It measures the carbon content of the input feed on the conveyor belt that transports raw material to the processing stage.

For Skaland, this data provides insight into feed quality, enabling process optimization.

Within the DINAMINE project, the data will be used as input for the Mineral Processing Model (MPM) – a digital tool designed to monitor real-time sensor data, including water and energy use, material flow, and elemental content in inputs, waste, and products.

The MPM outputs key performance metrics such as total water consumption, GHG emissions, mass balance, and recovery rates, which will be used by the Integrated Smart Mine Planning and Managing (ISM-PM) unit to optimize energy and resource use in mineral processing.
